Meet the Masters

Meet the Masters (MTM) is an arts education and criticism program facilitated through the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens and is an excellent way to familiarize children with different types of fine art. Art criticism in the classroom challenges observation and critical thinking skills as well as helps build self-confidence and the desire to participate in class discussions.Feedback from all the volunteers who participate in this program has been phenomenal – they love it as much as the students! For as many days as you and your student’s teacher’s schedule allow, you can bring a piece of art to the classroom for a 15-minute discussion. Volunteers are provided with a guideline to follow and students – even kindergartners – usually lead the discussion.
